Billy Grier is a 15-year-old boy who hasn't seen his father in a long time. He lives with his mother. When he starts to show physical discomfort, he goes to the doctor. After extensive testing, he is found to have a rare disease that accelerates the aging process. He is told that he has one year to live. He decides to run away from home to look for his father.
