The Still Point plot

Sarah, who is hearing impaired, is fifteen years old. Her mother has a new boyfriend, but Sarah doesn't accept him as a replacement for her absent father. Moreover, she is seen as the teacher's favorite and bullied at school. Sarah responds to these problems by withdrawing into her own world.
