The Secret of Madame Blanche plot

When showgirl Sally Sanders (Irene Dunne) meets handsome playboy Leonard St. John (Phillips Holmes), they fall head over heels in love and secretly marry. However, when Leonard's father, Aubrey St. John (Lionel Atwill), finds out, he does everything he can to separate the two lovers. When Leonard doesn't like it anymore and decides to take his own life, Sally is left with the debris.
