The Sailor's Return plot

England, mid 19th century. William Targett (Tom Bell) returns to his country after a world tour, accompanied by his young black wife, daughter of the king of Dahomey. The young couple buy an inn in a small village but soon have to deal with the racism of the local population, with William's sister in particular openly showing her disapproval of the marriage.
