The Red Phallus plot
Demons in blood-red masks chase 16-year-old Sangay through the village at the foot of the awe-inspiring Himalayan Mountains. Her father is a craftsman who sticks to the ancient traditions, carving phalluses out of wood to ward off evil spirits. He wants to protect his daughter from harm, which he does by controlling her in everything. He is shocked to learn of her secret affair with a married man from a lower social class, who in turn continues to pressure her to flee to the city with him.
