The Price of Wisdom plot

Despite a considerable inheritance, Jean Temple wants to make something of herself. She leaves for London, where she goes to work for Alfred Blake and befriends colleague Peter North. The latter has developed a good business idea, so Jean decides to support him financially. Alfred, who wants to marry Jean, realizes that Peter is more than a business partner, so he sues the new company, claiming the idea is his own.
