The Pledge plot

16-year-old Tory Hedderman is a self-centered, apathetic teenager who doesn't care about anything or anyone. Born and raised in New York, he thinks his life is over when his family moves to a small town in West Virginia. Tory is caught vandalizing a statue of a fallen World War I soldier and is sentenced to community service: he has to help out at the local Veterans Hospital. Here Tory meets some extraordinary individuals who change his perspective on the world.
