"Hustler" brings the Flynts not only millions in profit, but also the wrath of many "decent" people. Various charges mean Flynt spends many hours in court. Pretty okay.

Seen it before, when I was about 16 I think. Didn't remember much of this movie, other than Harrelson's role. In retrospect it is clear to me why, because he is the pivot of this film. He gives Flynt great shape, set on thick in a way few can get away with.

The story is surprisingly smooth and fresh for a film that mainly takes place in courts. That's normally not my thing, especially when they go over two hours, but I had absolutely no problem with this. Formas ensures smooth direction with a good pace, that's how it should be.

Furthermore, Flynt is of course an ideal subject for a biopic, but that is absolutely no guarantee of success. If you look at the boring movies that genre has spawned, Forman and cast just do a really good job. Not a masterpiece, for that it is not exceptional enough, but quite nice to have seen once.

Movie that somehow failed to captivate me at all. The subject did not appeal to me at all, but partly due to the excellent acting of Norton and Harrelson, this film is watchable.

Courtney Love is really terrible, what an annoying person that is.

Although the film is quite funny at times, it is all very long. Especially the first hour is almost impossible to get through.

The last part of the film is the best, although none of this is memorable.

I hesitate between a small pass or a small fail, but the fact that I looked several times during the film to see how long I had to go, I make it the last.

Very energetic biopic of the charismatic figure Larry Flynt. Very handsome acting performance by Woody Harrelson who fulfills the role with verve. It is also nice that Mr Larry Flint himself plays a supporting role as a judge. As an outright louse in the fur, Flynt kicks all the hallows of the establishment from the prudish modest morals. Notwithstanding - albeit with a difficult start - the circulations are booming.

The story was delivered with grace and pace. It never got boring and besides the energy that the film radiates, that also has a lot to do with Harrelson himself. At times it even became funny and it became nice to stand up for the underdog whether you agreed with it or not.

There is a good mix of court scenes and other situations. Very entertaining film by a confident to arrogant self-made man who took enormous risks. For that reason alone a lot of respect, although I can imagine that the film rather presents a rosy sketch of the person Flynt.
