The Outsider plot
Leontine Sturdee is an aristocratic English dancer. She goes to a gypsy camp in Hungary to learn some native dances and there she meets the mystic Anton Ragatzy, who has performed many impressive healings. Leontine sustains a serious injury so severe that she is no longer able to walk. Leontine, however, refuses the help of Ragatzy, who she considers a con man. Leontine returns to England but leading British surgeons are unable to help her. Ragatzy, who is in love with Leontine, then goes to England and begs her to give him a chance to heal her.
