The Martinache Marriage plot

In Paris, wealthy young American Horace Martinache takes a young flower girl to a hospital after hitting her in his car, and leaves money with friends to pay for her education. Years later, when Horace's cousin Eric plans to bring home a young actress he met in Europe and wants to marry, Horace's mother and sister ask him for help in breaking up the romance. Horace, an unmarried colonel, agrees. He wants to court her so that she loses interest in Eric. However, Horace does not know that the actress is the former flower girl he once helped.
