The Marriage Ring plot
Anne Mertons is the unhappy wife of Hugo Mertons, a ruthless thug. When the two struggle for a gun, Hugo is shot. Thinking he is dead, Anne flees to Hawaii, where she falls in love with Rodney Heathe, who owns a sugar plantation. Hugo, however, reappears and forces Anne to live in a hut as his prisoner.
