"Patriotism or pacifism? Humanity or luxury?"

A brilliant but poor writer, a convinced pacifist, decides to work for a newspaper and writes anti-war articles. When he discovers that the newspaper's owner is betraying him by teaming up with weapons manufacturers to cash in on the war, the writer goes mad.
