Tom Macauley and his younger brother Edwin are directors of their father's bank. Edwin invests the bank's money for personal gain, but banker Lon Morris, a supposed friend, hatches a plan to pin the blame on Tom. In prison, Tom becomes a confidante, but he escapes when he learns that Morris is going to marry Nora Brooks, his fiancée.
