The Lure plot

Charlotte Baker is drugged and taken to a brothel by Paul, her fiancé, who is actually a pimp. To find her, Charlotte's family contacts the renowned detective Bob Macauley, whose lover, Sylvia, is a struggling saleswoman and the only support for her ailing mother. When her boss rejects her promotion, Sylvia applies for a job with a kind woman who has offered her help. To her horror, Sylvia soon discovers that the woman is a madam and has lured her to the same house where Charlotte is being held captive.
