The Leaving of Liverpool plot

Lily and Bert live in a home in Liverpool, England. They have a hard time and daily they have to deal with the abuses that often take place in these homes just after the Second World War. One day they are forced to leave their beloved Liverpool and emigrate to Australia to help build the country. The two depend on each other and support each other in difficult times.
