The Laughing Lady plot
"A PARAMOUNT ALL-TALKING PICTURE"
Marjorie is the wife of New York banker Hector Lee. She is rescued from drowning at the seaside by lifeguard James Dugan. Later, they are caught together by a maid when James tries to assault Marjorie in her hotel room. The scandal is widely reported in the tabloids. Hector files for divorce and demands custody of their child. Hector's lawyer subsequently falls in love with his client's wife.
