The Last Time plot
Ted (Michael Keaton), a successful sales executive for the Bindview company, shows newbie sales associate Jamie (Brendan Fraser) how to pull the strings. However, it becomes clear once again that Ted's possessed personality is a hindrance to anyone who is friendly to him. Despite his cynicism, Ted falls in love with Jamie's fiancée Belisa (Amber Valletta) and gradually loses the bitterness that used to make him such a great agent. Meanwhile, Jamie desperately fails to be a good salesman and becomes increasingly disillusioned. Even if Bindview loses his profitability, Ted ignores his job and remains fully focused on Belisa. It's only when the company falls victim to a hostile takeover that things begin to become clearer about the rationale behind Ted's attitude.
