The Last Day of August plot

Dan was paralyzed a year ago. After months of recovery and confused by this new reality, he retires to his family's cabin in upstate New York. On the last day of August, his friends unexpectedly visit him to confront him about his withdrawn and self-destructive behavior. They want to support him and hope that the delicate confrontation will prompt him to return home.
