13th film of the Cameron Diaz marathon!

Never seen it before and actually only recently came onto my radar. So because of the marathon I definitely wanted to see it! The story seemed interesting to me, but the execution is unfortunately not that interesting.

The cast is good, Diaz, Brewster and Eccleston do a nice job. Belle (the younger version of Brewster) really looks a lot like her. They chose well!

However, the story is quite slow, not that interesting and the ending is also quite disappointing. Yes, she committed suicide, but why? What was the thinking behind it? In the end you don't get an answer and that makes it all quite lame. I would have liked to see a lot more of the''cult''and I think they could have made it more interesting if Diaz's character had just disappeared. That she would go find her and find out if she is even alive. That she goes back to the places where her sister has been and the pieces of the puzzle start to fall into place and she learns more and more. And then at the end it remains exciting whether she will see her again or not. That would have made it more exciting and moving to watch instead of already knowing she's dead. Unfortunately a missed opportunity for an intriguing story.
