I had won this one a while ago, but because the film is quite long (more than 160min) and because horses are not really my thing, I always postponed it.
Just checked it yesterday and it turned out better than expected.
The film was a good film with beautiful landscapes and a very well-known and well-acting cast. The movie isn't that fast-paced, but it certainly isn't boring. Thought it was worth seeing.
The book was also included and I quickly read the end after the movie, but this was completely different from the movie.

Robert Redford's cinematic craftsmanship.
The most beautiful scenes are those where the horse takes center stage.
A bit long-winded in the middle of the film - the viewer loses the notion of time in the story - and also a bit corny, but the latter remains within bounds and fortunately the film can count on the talent of the actors, that of the young Scarlett definitely included.

Beautiful. The Horse Whisperer is long and not all subplots work equally well, but there are plenty of positives. Strong acting, beautiful images of nature, an atmospheric direction by Redford, and certainly for horse lovers there is also plenty to enjoy. Everything about the horse Pilgrim is also the most interesting part, and the film is at its strongest when Redford works with the horses and Scarlett has to deal with trauma. In those moments, The Horse Whisperer is a magical movie experience. That love affair between Redford and Thomas doesn't really work, but I'm happy to take it into the bargain.
