The Great Well plot

While visiting India, Camilla Challenor falls in love with Major Darenth. Darenth, however, has no money and Camilla's mother convinces her to marry millionaire Peter Starling instead. The newlyweds return to London, but when Starling learns that his oil well has failed, he becomes so involved in business that Camilla is seriously neglected. Darenth has returned to her life and uses their friendship to extract some information about the well so that he can pull off a robbery at the market.
