The Flying Fontaines plot
Rick Rias, the former star of the acrobat group Flying Fontaines, returns to the circus after serving two years in the military. After being welcomed by Victor, the patriarch of the Fontaine family, his daughter Suzanne and son Paul, Rick climbs into the ropes, much to the consternation of his father Roberto Rias, the famous aerial acrobat who taught Rick to fly. Roberto has always been very critical of his son and considers him to be overly stubborn and lacking in discipline. In addition to experiencing his father's displeasure, Rick becomes even more grumpy when he learns that his former lover and colleague Jan is now married to Paul Fontaine, the group's catcher.
