Delightfully warm-blooded sort of romantic drama.

Wonderful performance by Carian Hinds as a widower and jack-of-all-trades who slowly draws closer and closer to writer Quinn.

In itself a very simple story and without any fuss.

Stunning images of Ireland, a beautiful soundtrack, and avoids the pitfall that makes most romantic dramas so unwatchable.

In itself, the story doesn't actually amount to much, and yet it captivates from beginning to end. Perhaps it is the interplay between romance and the mystery of what takes place in the darkening mind of the protagonist, but the merit of a convincing Ciarán Hinds, who truly lends a strong cachet to his character of an easy-going but wavering widower, should not be underestimated.

Very fitting piano plucking as accompanying music.

We had an eclipse here recently too, a solar eclipse. Everyone here had one of those eclipse glasses. Except me. So I didn't see anything of that solar eclipse. What does that have to do with this film? Nothing. Except the title. But I didn't see a solar eclipse in this film either. Not again.

Other than that, it is a decent film, even though the story isn't particularly substantial. Ciarán Hinds gives a fine performance as a widower who sees ghosts. That is nothing unusual in Ireland. Ireland is considered the land of ghosts. They have a long tradition of ghost stories. The film has a few nice jump scares. There are also beautiful shots of Cobh and the surroundings of Cork.
