"Trapped Between Infidelity and - The Deep Blue Sea"
Hester Collyer is the troubled wife of a London lawyer. Pained by emotional problems, she decides to turn her back and leave her loveless marriage behind. She meets a handsome RAF officer, and decides to live with him. When her lover turns out to be rather shallow and unreliable, Hester tries to commit suicide. She is rescued by a gambler and former doctor, and he convinces her to boost her confidence and start a life where she doesn't have to rely solely on men.
