The Death and Life of John F. Donovan plot
Set in the early 2000s, the film focuses on the trials and tribulations of an American TV star in his twenties and his correspondence with Rupert Turner, an 11-year-old up and coming actor who lives with his mother in England. Their lives take a dramatic turn when the existence of their correspondence friendship is made public. This provokes the most baseless assumptions, which sends Donovan into a downward spiral. A decade later, the young actor recalls his relationship with his former idol during an interview.
