Damien Oliver is a young Australian jockey who loses his only brother in a tragic racing accident just days before the big race in the Melbourne Cup. Making matters worse is the fact that his father also suffered the same fate a few decades earlier. After his brother's death, Damien faces one setback after another. But in the end, he returns to triumph in one of the most exciting finals of all sports.
