The Cost of Hatred plot
Young Elsie Graves is married to Justus Graves, a brutal, violent man who beats her. She falls in love with recently widowed Robert Amory, who lives next door with his son Ned. One day Justus comes home to find his wife and Amory embracing. Justus shoots Amory, then takes his daughter Sarita and heads to Mexico. A few years later, young Ned, now a man, is on his way to Mexico to take up a diplomatic position when he is robbed, beaten, and thrown in jail in a small Mexican town. To his horror, he discovers that the man responsible for his predicament is none other than Judge Justus Graves.
