The Color of the Sun plot
On the main island of Okinawa, a year after his father disappeared at sea, 16-year-old Kamei is searching for meaning. Under his mother's care, Kamei spends the final days of the school year with his friends Chokun and Juyu, longing for the freedom of summer vacation. Near the bridge connecting the mainland to the island of Ojima, local teenagers dive into the sea, while Kamei struggles with his feelings for Sayaka, a sharp, spiritual classmate, and tries to earn money by helping his grandfather restore the community center — hoping to escape the island he both loves and hates.
