The Bride plot

A few years after the genocide against the Tutsis, a young woman, Eva, dreams of studying medicine. But then she is kidnapped by a group of men and raped, which later turns out to be part of a traditional marriage rite. Eva feels abandoned by her conservative aunts, who pressure her to accept her new situation. She must now come to terms with her new reality and share a household with her unwanted husband Silas and his cousin.
