The Boy from Stalingrad plot

"Hollywood's first drama of Russia's young heroes."

Russian children gathering grain in the field are in the path of the invading German army on its way to Stalingrad. The four youths, Kolya, Grisha, Pavel and the girl, Nadya, realize that the Germans are attacking, so they set fire to the field's harvest. Returning to their village, the children find Tommy, the son of an English consulate, who fled the town with his parents, who died in the attempt. They take him to their village to recover. In the rubble of the village, a young child, Yuri, is still alive and is also taken in by the group. Kolya, the eldest, assumes leadership and skirmishes to find food for the group. However, that catches the attention of an enemy Nazi major.
