The Blind Goddess plot
Lord Arthur Brasted is responsible for the post-war fund for displaced persons. His secretary Derek Waterhouse visits the chairman to accuse Brasted of stealing money from this fund. However, this leads to a case of libel and makes things difficult for Waterhouse for several reasons. In Prague, the man who discovered the fraud committed suicide or was murdered. Lady Helen Brasted is an old flame of Waterhouse's and quite cunning, and Waterhouse knows the attorney handling the charges personally.
