The Black Crook plot

Amina loves Rudolph and rejects the powerful Count Wolfenstein when he proposes. In a jealous rage, Wolfenstein throws Rudolph into a dungeon. Meanwhile, Hertzog has made a deal with the devil: he must hand over one soul to Satan each year or be banished to hell. With only 24 hours left until the end of the year, Hertzog focuses all his attention on Amina and Rudolph, convinced they are weakened by despair and therefore easy prey.
