The Birth of a Nation plot
"The Fiery Cross of the Ku Klux Klan!"
To prevent the disintegration of the United States, Lincoln declares war on the renegade southern states under Jefferson Davis, leading to the American Civil War. The Stoneman and Cameron families, who were close friends, are now being dispersed by this conflict. After the South is defeated, the freed slaves unite under the leadership of half-breed Silas Lynch, who is determined to exact revenge on the former slave owners. To protect the white population, Ben Cameron sets up the Ku Klux Klan.
