Nightclub singer Tommy McCabe decides to join the police force to impress the beautiful Jerry Sullivan, who comes from a family of cops. Due to his short fuse, he beats his fellow cop and romantic rival Bill Morrissey and is expelled from the police force. When Tommy's brother Joe foils a robbery at his business and the mobsters retaliate by killing him, Tommy sets out to find the culprits.
