Team Spirit plot
This film is about six friends with one common passion: football. Yet not only does their life revolve around that, but all six of them also have their own personal problems, which are taking an increasing place in their lives. As the historic 500th race approaches, emotions and tensions are ramped up. Do they play or not, and will they manage to solve their problems?

FC De Kampioenen, but in real life where football is the setting for a group of friends to come together. Although they don't make too much of it, friendship and getting together are central, although that is often not always easy to combine with private life.
Many well-known Flemish faces, some of which you hardly hear about today, but most of them are still running at full speed today, such as contemporaries Daeseleire, Michael Pas, Dimitri Leue, Geert Hunaerts, Peter Van den Begin, Filip Peeters and Mathias Sercu. Nice to see such a large well-known cast play together. Kudos to Verheyen for always being able to achieve this, it seems like a patent from him. Only Ilse DM was an absolute miscast...
It's just a shame that his films themselves are too clichéd and too commercial. Winning Oscars doesn't seem to be his primary concern. His productions are entertaining, but that's about it.

Reasonable.
Last year (or maybe a little longer ago) the series and movies made it to television again, and I've reconsidered this light fare. In the meantime, it had been at least 15 years since I watched it as a child and some nostalgic feelings were not completely absent.
But of course it's not really high quality. It's often a bit clumsy - actors like Axel Daeseleire aren't exactly acting guns right now - and quite dated. Above all, a high feel-good level remains. I can still have it anyway.
