Taking Liberty plot

1778. The Americans have risen against British rule, but General Washington's army is on its knees. Only a masked outlaw known as "The Eagle" can keep morale up. On one of his raids, he meets Nell (Sophie Ward), the daughter of a British loyalist. Despite her strict upbringing, she is liberal and democratic. The area is led by the ruthless Leopold (David Warner), who sets out to trap the bandit and crush Washington's army.
