'T Bolleken plot

An old rich uncle, on his deathbed, gives his only heir, Vital, the following wise advice: "Beware of the women, and beware of alcohol". Vital, now very rich in one fell swoop, doesn't care about the conventions of his environment. A marriage below his means to a girl of humble origin costs him dearly. The noble environment sabotages his ambitions and throws him up again.
