Syberiada Polska plot

A large number of Poles, Ukrainians and Jews were deported to Russia in the 1940s. The plight of displaced persons is shown from the perspective of the boy Staszek from a small village in the eastern Polish border area, who is exiled to Siberia with his family and neighbours. Together with his companions, he begins the hard struggle for survival, where his most formidable opponents turn out to be merciless nature, sulphurous cold and deadly famine.
