Cam Ellerby and Bill Gamble are the main singers in an itinerant quack show. While making a stopover in the small town of Kokomo, Indiana, Cam reconnects with his ex-wife Sylvia Townsend and his now beautiful and grown daughter Kathleen. When Kathleen indicates that she wants to make a career in show business, her mother does not want to hear about it. Silvia also disapproves of her daughter's romance with Bill Gamble.
