Swanee River plot

"The Story of Stephen C. Foster - The Great American Troubadour"

American songwriter Stephen Foster falls in love with the beautiful Jane McDowell from the south. After they get married, Stephen and Jane move to Kentucky. Stephen's career takes off when he can sell a song to famed minstrel Edwin P. Christy. However, his career ends when the American Civil War breaks out. Stephen is accused of siding with the Confederates. He then flees with his family to the north, where he turns to alcohol.
