Summering plot

"Summer is a state of mind."

Since they will soon be at a different school, friends Dina, Lola, Daisy and Mari want to spend the last days of late summer together. They make a horrifying discovery when they come across a dead body. They try to unravel this mystery and it forever marks their lives.

Nice summer coming of age about four girls who are going to high school.
They decide to spend the days together one more time, get everything out of life. Until they stumble upon a corpse in the woods.

I quickly got associations with Stand By Me here. But now with girls.

They decide to move the corpse and find out within themselves what could have happened. Then the film turns out quite extensive. One of the girls gets horror-like visions of that corpse and eventually it turns into a Ouija game.

Summering is a pleasant little film here. You can almost feel the summer heat, the story is stitched together in routines and then we also have those hysterical parents who start talking about medication because of every poop or fart of the daughters. Typical American weather.

But so few viewers on Moviemeter? This could have been an A24 production.
