Suddenly, Last Summer plot

"Television Adaptation of the Tennessee Williams classic."

Violet Venable (Maggie Smith) arranges for her niece Catharine Holly (Natasha Richardson) to be committed to an institution after the death of her son. She pays well for this and now demands that doctor Cukrowicz (Rob Lowe) perform brain surgery on her. Cukrowicz refuses this without talking to Catharine first. He tries to find out exactly what happened when Violet's son was mysteriously killed.
