Success Is the Best Revenge plot

Alex Rodak (Michael York) is a Polish theater maker who, thanks to his appointment to the French Légion d'Honneur - awarded by the French President (Michel Piccoli) - can rejoin his family in exile in London after three years . In this city he wants to set up a big theater spectacle for the benefit of 'Solidarity', but he encounters all kinds of problems, not in the least the result of his stubborn and sometimes obnoxious behaviour.
