Stories of Our Lives plot
What started as an archive of testimonials from gay and lesbian Kenyans was soon picked up as a film project around the world. In socially and culturally conservative Kenya, as in most countries on the African continent, the fight for gay rights is a dangerous battlefield. The laws of the country stigmatize and criminalize non-heterosexual identity. All the more courageous are the members of the Nairobi-based art collective who have brought five stories to life. However, their names have been removed from the film for fear of reprisals.
