Spur der Hoffnung plot

Ben (Peter Lohmeyer) lives on the Hiddensee and is quite on his own. On a stormy February night, he sees a small boat drifting to shore. On board is Satya (Brevin Koneswaran), a refugee from Sri Lanka. This makes Ben think back to his own flight from the GDR, in which his wife and son were killed. Ben decides to hide Satya while the police search for the illegal refugee. They have asked Ben's nemesis Straussenberg (Jürgen Vogel) for help.
