Sophie - Sissis Kleine Schwester plot

The story of Sophie, who was always in the shadow of her sister Elisabeth. Although Elisabeth became Empress of Austria-Hungary, Sophie remained unmarried. She was betrothed to the insane King Ludwig II of Bavaria, but a marriage never materialized. Shortly afterwards she meets an ordinary young man, and falls in love. Her family disapproves of him, and forbids her further contact. As a precaution, a marriage with the Archduke Ferdinand is quickly arranged, but this union also only brings grief to Sophie.
