Story about the lives of the three daughters of the Soong family, one of the richest families in pre-Communist China. Two of them married important men in Chinese history. Ching-ling married the later founder of the Chinese Republic and her sister May-ling married his successor, the famous Chiang Kai-Shek. The eldest sister married an industrialist. In retrospect, those sisters have had a greater influence on their country than anyone could have ever imagined.
