Son of a Lion plot

In the northwest of present-day Pakistan, home of the Pashtuns, a widower expects his only son to follow in his footsteps. Eleven-year-old Niaz Afridi is taught how to make and test weapons from his father, just as Sher Alam learned again from his father. But Niaz doesn't want to follow in his father's footsteps at all. He wants to go to school.
