Some Mother's Son plot

"Between love and loyalty... Between life and death... Lies a choice no mother should have to make."

Annie Higgins (Fionnula Flanagan), is an IRA activist, Kathleen Quigley (Helen Mirren) abhors violence and wants nothing to do with the IRA. Initially, the two face each other, but when their sons go on a hunger strike, a bond creates a bond and Kathleen has to adjust her fiercely anti-IRA opinion.
