Solomon and Gaenor plot
"Their tragedy was to fall in love."
Wales, 1911. The Jew Solomon Levinsky sells cloth door to door and one day meets Gaenor Rees. The two soon start a relationship. However, Solomon hides his Jewish ancestry from her and her deeply religious parents and brother. But his parentage is soon revealed to them and the now pregnant and ignorant Gaenor is banned from associating with him. Gaenor doesn't give up and soon finds out Solomon's secret. Just as they decide to flee, anti-Semitic riots break out and the young couple is driven apart. Will they see each other again?
